I Have a 10 Year Old Girl....Bring on the Drama!

Today is Faith´s 10th birthday. Double digits are a big deal in our house. When our kids get to be 10 they get a later bedtime so of course she is super excited. Woo Hoo!! I can´t believe she is growing up so fast. I told Joe our entire lives are going to be totally different in just a few years. Now we have a houseful of teenaged boys. Within 2 years we will have 4 teenaged boys and two guys in their 20s. Our five younger ones are girls. Right now the oldest girl is turning 10. In just a few more years we will have a houseful of teen girls. What a change we will experience! Out with the wrestling, competition, and explosion movies and in with the drama, hours in front of the mirror, makeup and late night giggling....oh wait...some of that has already started. We better fasten our seatbelts. Happy birthday Faithy Girl!! I love you.

You have probably already discovered this, but I was dumbfounded by the COMPLETE difference in boys and girls. I always thought it was just because parents treated girls differently, until I actually had girls. I really think parents who only get to experience one or the other REALLY miss out. They are SO different, but SO amazing in their own ways. My "baby girls" were 18 in December, graduating in a month, and heading to college!!
Good Luck with all the girl teens!!

My Emma is just about to turn 10...in only 20 days! I remember that Faith and Emma had birthdays close together. I cannot believe they are both a DECADE old now! Fortunately, not much drama has started at the Shipe house yet. :)

Kathy, yes it is amazing how different boys and girls are from the very beginning and then as they grow up the more apparent the differences become.

Thanks, Court for the birthday wishes for Faith. You are a very special person in her life. (mine too)

Thank you too, Becky for the good wishes.

Christy, I can´t believe how old your girls are getting. We´ll all have plenty of drama soon enough I´m sure. So far our girls haven´t had much drama either, but I´m waiting for it. ;^)
