I Have a 10 Year Old Girl....Bring on the Drama!

Today is Faith´s 10th birthday. Double digits are a big deal in our house. When our kids get to be 10 they get a later bedtime so of course she is super excited. Woo Hoo!! I can´t believe she is growing up so fast. I told Joe our entire lives are going to be totally different in just a few years. Now we have a houseful of teenaged boys. Within 2 years we will have 4 teenaged boys and two guys in their 20s. Our five younger ones are girls. Right now the oldest girl is turning 10. In just a few more years we will have a houseful of teen girls. What a change we will experience! Out with the wrestling, competition, and explosion movies and in with the drama, hours in front of the mirror, makeup and late night giggling....oh wait...some of that has already started. We better fasten our seatbelts. Happy birthday Faithy Girl!! I love you.

Busy Month Moving

As you can tell from my lack of blog entries we have had a busy month. On the 15th of the month we moved....for the 6th time in the past 27 months. YIKES. And when we move it´s like moving a small army. There are many people that must adjust to a new place. Thankfully all our kiddos are very flexible and this move went smoothly. We hired a truck to take a couple of loads (the trucks here aren´t big at all) and we hired seminary students to help us (read: help the teenage boys) carry the heavy stuff. All in all it went well. We are settled in our new place and have all the boxes unpacked (except for my kiddos´ board games....gotta find a spot for those still). We have a bit more room at this house. It actually has 4 bedrooms. All of our other houses in Coch have had 3. It´s very nice to be able to spread out the kids a bit. All 5 girls still share a room, but they are okay with that. It´s giggles every night. ;^)

Here´s a view of the city from my desk. I love looking out my window so much I think I won´t put up a curtain.

And here´s a picture of the tienda directly across the street. Think of it as a very tiny 7-11 except it´s only ´walk up´ service...you walk up to the window and tell the owner what you want...they keep the doors locked because of crime. The owner is so glad we moved in. We buy plenty of milk, bread and butter not to mention all the Coca Cola Zeros.

Here´s a pic of our street from Josh and David´s window.

Letter from Josh

Here´s a letter that Josh wrote me last week:

Here is what it says:

Dear Mother,

I don´t know what I would do without you. You are the best and Dad of course. I would not give you guys up unless the Lord God tells me too. You are the best and thanks for being the best Mother on the earth.
(then in the heart it says....)

Thanks Mom for everything.

(and it has a picture of my at my desk on the computer....the way he´s seen me the most lately)

How sweet is that? It made my day (my week, my month) of course and so I just had to share it with you. Thanks for indulging me. I love the line...."unless the Lord God tells me too". The boy speaks in King James. ;^) He wrote me another one too that I wanted to put here, but right now I can´t find it. Look for it soon (if I can find it that is).

WOO HOO!!!!

YES! For the first time since Mercy was born my email inbox is empty....at least for right now. That´s okay. I´ll take this moment and rejoice in it. Now I can actually start posting on my blog again. Being on Facebook has drastically reduced my blogging, but I am hoping to remedy that now that my inbox is under control (for the moment).
